Great location for outdoor activities

Alltnacriche is SU Scotland’s outdoor activity centre in the heart of the Cairngorms. People of all ages come to stay and the beauty of the centre is its flexibility. You can book the centre for your group and use it as a base to explore the area, take part in a full-on outdoor activity programme or bring your group to relax and enjoy the peace and tranquility of this beautiful area.

About Alltnacriche – a Christian outdoor activity centre

SU Scotland acquired Alltnacriche in September 1987 to provide an all year round centre to deliver SU HOLIDAYS. As well as delivering holidays part of the vision is for training, development and discipleship of leaders.

Since the centre opened in 1988, the standard of the facilities has continued to improve and Alltnacriche is now used by schools, youth groups and churches as well as by SU Scotland events. We are continually working hard to maintain and develop the centre, adding new outdoor activities and improving what’s on offer.

FIND US and come and visit – we’d love to get to know you and our group!

Safety first

Activities at Alltnacriche are governed by SU Scotland’s Safety Management System which responds to the requirements of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and Associated Regulations, and in particular the Adventure Activities Licensing Regulations 2004. All activities have an element of risk. Whilst we  do all that we can to manage this risk there is still potential for injury. We ask all participants to be aware of this. We ask for medical information for participants to ensure we support those with particular needs.

RISK MANAGEMENT SUMMARY

Alltnacriche has been granted a licence by the Adventure Activities Licensing Authority (AALA) to provide adventurous activities for young people. Our two centres at Alltnacriche and Lendrick Muir are managed by members of the Association of Heads of Outdoor Education Centres and registered with a number of local authorities as accredited providers. Confirmation of the licence contents can be checked online at AALA.

First Aid

We hope your stay is safe, but if first aid is required appropriate staff have undergone basic first aid training, If illness or injury requires medical attention,  facilities including an out of hours service are located in Aviemore, approximately five minutes away.

Insurance

Full liability insurances are held by SU Scotland. We do not cover cancellation or loss of personal property, and would encourage participants to ensure they are appropriately insured.

About SU Scotland

Our vision is to see the children and young people of Scotland exploring the Bible and responding to the significance of Jesus.

As a Christian charity we are part of the worldwide family of Scripture Union movements that began nearly 150 years ago and now operates in over 120 countries across the world. In Scotland around 2,000 volunteers are supported by over 100 staff and associate workers. We work in partnership with local churches wherever we can, training, equipping, and working with children and young people. Wherever you find children and young people – in schools, on holiday, in  local communities or online – you’ll find us providing opportunities to explore the Bible and respond to the significance of Jesus whilst making friends and having fun.

Come for the Weekend, or anytime for that matter!

If you are looking for the right venue for a weekend for your youth group, church weekend, or similar, Alltnacriche could be just the place.  Find out more about what we offer for short or long weekends away and how to get booked up easily on the MY EVENT page.

Come in the Holidays

During the school holidays, Alltnacriche is home to a series of SU HOLIDAYS. There are loads of activities on and offsite.  All of them are great fun, and that’s not just us saying that! We also run a number of weekends which have a geographical focus, and again details are on the SU HOLIDAYS website.

Come for a school week in term-time!

Weekdays in term-time and Alltnacriche is busy with CLASSROOM OUTDOORS. We run residential events for primary and secondary schools tailored to Curriculum for Excellence.
