There are loads of things to do around Alltnacriche, on and off the site. The Cairngorms National Park is one of the best places in the country for walking, climbing, cycling and skiing. Alltnacriche has a tremendous location in the middle of all of that.
When you come and stay at the centre we will work with you to plan an exciting programme of activities for your group, but there will be free time to when you can just go outside and enjoy this amazing part of the world.
If you go out and about nearby there are loads of touristy things you can do and of course many of them cost money. Here are some of our favourite free ways of enjoying the outdoors around the centre.
From bugs to golden eagles, this is a great place for wildlife. Go quietly through the woods and you’ll hear the birds before you see them. And if you go out for a walk on the hills you might spot red deer. This is also territory for red squirrels and down by the water you can see Osprey fishing.
Explore a loch
Loch Morlich, Loch Insh and Loch an Eileen are all beautiful places to go exploring. There are lots of paths so these are ideal places for walking and cycling.
See the view from up the hill
You can walk out the gate at the centre and head of up the hill. Once you get out of the trees you get an amazing view across the Spey Valley to the Cairngorms.
Play in our burn
Hundreds of children of all ages enjoy messing about in the burn (small river!) that runs through our grounds. Put your wellies on and explore or enjoy a paddle in summer.
